When I sign on with Alamo Staff Leasing, am I required to provide a full spectrum of benefits to my employees?
|
| |
No. We lend creativity to you. Alamo Staff Leasing offers a menu of fully insured benefits which can be paid by you, the client, or by the employee. |
 |
What pay schedule does Alamo Staff Leasing use to pay my employees? |
| |
You may choose to stay on your current pay schedule or select a new one. |
 |
What does it take to get started, and what are the contractual agreements? |
| |
It's simple: A staffing agreement outlines the Alamo Staff Leasing and Client Company responsibilities, rates and terms. Then a Alamo Staff Leasing Representative conducts an employee orientation at the worksite. |
 |
Is a co-employee arrangement accepted by my insurance certificate holders? |
| |
Certainly. Alamo Staff Leasing can make certificate requests quick and easy. |
 |
What will my employees think about getting their paycheck from Alamo Staff Leasing? |
| |
Honestly, they probably won't notice the difference, other than getting a benefits package that is typically only available at large companies. Because Alamo Staff Leasing has thousands of co-employees, we can offer big company benefits like health, dental, vision and disability insurance, a cafeteria plan, a 401(k) plan and more. Plus, we'll make sure you get the best coverage at the lowest possible cost - so you'll never have to shop around. |
 |
When are my employees eligible for health insurance and do I have to contribute on their behalf? |
| |
The standard eligibility for health insurance is the 1st day of the month following 90 days of employment. Eligibility may vary depending on union affiliations, or other special circumstances. Clients may elect an additional waiting period for their company. In most areas, Alamo Staff Leasing offers health insurance that requires client contributions and participation requirements. Contact Alamo Staff Leasing for details regarding your area. |
 |
What kinds of payroll deductions are taken from my employees' payroll? |
| |
Deductions may vary by state. Most states allow the following: voluntary deductions (i.e., health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, 401(k), Section 125), non-voluntary deductions (i.e., Medicare, Social Security), garnishments, child support and IRS levies.
For specifics on deductions in your area, contact Alamo Staff Leasing.

What do I do with the employees' paperwork? |
| |
A Alamo Staff Leasing Representative conducts a new client sign-up. At that time, ASLrepresentatives assist employees with the required new hire paperwork. You will receive a client kit containing all the necessary forms for future new employees, or you may simply access the forms packet online.
Once the employee completes the paperwork, you, the client, will verify that all items are complete and that the employee has signed all the new hire forms. Once this is done, you simply return all the completed information to ASL.
As you add new employees, have them complete the necessary paperwork available at the worksite or online.
|
 |
What paperwork do I, as the supervisor, need to fill out in case of an on-the-job injury? |
| |
In the event of an injury, you must complete the First Report of Injury form. The employee is required to fill out the Employee's Notice of Injury form. Fax completed forms to the Workers' Compensation Department at Alamo Staff Leasing. These reports are required whether or not medical attention is necessary. Please contact the Workers' Compensation Department with any questions. |
 |
What do I do with my state quarterly tax information for the first quarter after I have signed on with Alamo Staff Leasing? |
| |
When you join with Alamo Staff Leasing, you no longer have employees to report. Simply send the quarterly tax form back to the state, reference that your employees are now with Alamo Staff Leasing, and mark "final return" on the form.
If you paid employee wages for any time during the quarter, you are still responsible for reporting those wages and paying the appropriate taxes.

What should I do when I receive a request for information on an unemployment claim? |
| |
If you receive a state unemployment claim/request form, you should contact Alamo Staff Leasing's Unemployment Department. Promptly fax the unemployment form to ASL whether it is in Alamo Staff Leasing's name or your company's name. Alamo Staff Leasing will obtain information from you as to why the employee was terminated. |
